Combine or Merge Duplicate Accounts

To Combine or Merge Duplicate Accounts:
Many times a customer will reate a new account when they already have an existing account. This may be because they have forgotten their password, have changed their email address and can no longer get their password or some other reason. GamePlan evaluates all accounts daily and identifies accounts that are suspected to be duplicate. As normal maintenance you should review these accounts and combine duplicates.  You may also receive a call from a customer and need to combine an account.
To review the accounts that you suspect to be duplicate or to combine a specific account is simple. 
  1. Log in as an Administrator.
  2. Select GamePlan in Control Panel.
  3. Select E-Commerce> View Orders and Payments.
  4. In this example, we want to combine a "test account". When we search for "testaccount" in Orders and Payments, -10- customer accounts are under the same Username.

  5. To remove duplicate accounts, select More
  6. Then select Combine Duplicate Elements to open the Duplicate Entry Wizard.

  7. Select the desired function that you wish to perform:  Here we have selected “Search for duplicate accounts and combine them” and click Next.
    1. Search for duplicate accounts and combine them
    2. Search for duplicate parents and combine them
    3. Search for duplicate players and combine them

  8. Select the desired duplicate accounts or click on the “Do not prompt to combine the account again” which will ignore this account as a potential duplicate.
  9. When you have finished selecting the desired accounts, click Finish.
  10. The selected accounts are now combined.
